SMALL & DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS OKLAHOMA CITY AIR LOGISTICS CENTER USAF BUSINESS SMALL SMALL & DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS OKLAHOMA CITY AIR LOGISTICS CENTER Source Approval Contractor Submits Package to SBO New Manufacture/Repair/FAA Certified Part Preliminary Review/Tracking SBO Forwards to Engineering Submit Package in Accordance With Source Approval Information Booklet http://www.tinker.af.mil/sbo.asp Qualification Requirements (QR) Published In FedBizOpps Always Request QR for Either New Manufacture or Repair Source Development Specialist in SBO So let’s talk about how you become a qualified source. SARS are either submitted for new manufacture, repair or overhaul, or for an FAA type certified part (must demonstrate that the FAA certified part is the same or better than the part it seeks to replace. All SARS shall be submitted to the Small Business Office. We maintain a data base and use it to report to Senior Leadership the number of SARS received and approved. All SARS are reviewed by our office before submittal to engineering for review/evaluation. If there is an open acquisition for the item, the buyers are notified. Listed on our webpage is a Source Approval Information Booklet which has links to assist you in submitting your package or establishing qualification requirements. Submitting a complete package should facilitate the review process. If anything is missing, we’ll have to return it to you and that will only serve to delay the process, so please comply with the information in the booklet. For those acquisitions which have qualification requirements assigned, we will publish a notification in the FedBizOps and if you are interested, please contact the source development specialist in my office. Most of the items purchased by Tinker AFB require engineering source approval—this is accomplished through Qualification Requirements We publish QRs in FedBizOpps. If you missed the announcement, don’t fret. You can call Joe Roop and he will get you a copy of the QR Please note that approval of your package does not guarantee that you’ll receive a contract…it only means that you are approved for that item when a requirement generates.
