What is Christianity Really All About? We Are so Blessed in this country, but calamities do befall us at times. Not long ago was Katrina in 05 and then Gustav in 08, the flooding in Iowa and along the Mississippi in 08. We are good (most of the time) to respond to these events in the time of immediate need, but what about over the long run? Many of these places are still in serious need of help but we don’t hear much about it anymore.

What is Christianity Really All About? What can we say about our Christianity? Is it just going to worship services, preaching, singing, praying, communing, and throwing in a few coins in the basket? Certainly this is a part of it, but it is more than this, or is it? WHAT DO OUR LIVES REALLY SAY ABOUT OUR CHRISTIANTY?

What is Christianity Really All About? Hebrews 9:27 tells us that “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” On that day we all will be judged according to the things we have done or failed to do in this life. Revelation 20:13   “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” Our Faith, our Christianity , our “CHRIST- LIKENESS “ will be judged.

What is Christianity Really All About? Let us ask ourselves - what GOOD IS OUR Confession OF FAITH if there is no EVIDENCE of it? Have you ever heard the phrase, “He/She can sure “talk” a good story”? James 2: 14 – 17 Tells us that our “Faith without works is dead”. James 4:17 states, “Therefore to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is a sin.”

What is Christianity Really All About? If we know of those who are in need of help and do nothing about it - WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT OUR FAITH – OUR CHRISTIANTY? Jesus warns of Pharisaical hearts in Matthew 15:8 “This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.”  Jesus presents to us this very sobering thought about all of this in Matthew 25:31 – 46

What is Christianity Really All About? Helping others is a continual process in our Christian life. How we handle this may determine our eternal abiding place. It does not include only those outside the Church; Galatians 6:10   “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

What is Christianity Really All About? “As we have therefore opportunity,….” What does he mean by that? Do we look for opportunities or do we just wait until they appear? Christianity is more than we often think of it as being - It is “DOING UNTO OTHERS AS WE WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO US.” MATTHEW 7:12

CONCLUSION I never cease to be amazed at what we want others to do unto us, by what we do unto them? CHRISTIANITY Is more than just going to worship services, preaching, singing, praying, communing, and throwing in a few coins in the basket! Christianity is a WAY of Living.
