Famous People Henry Bessemer and William Kelly- made a cheaper and more efficient way of making steel. Charles Goodyear- In the United States, he made a new process called “curing” which made rubber more elastic. Henry Bessemer William Kelly Charles Goodyear

Advancements/Improvements - The first method of making steel through steam engines were weak and expensive because it couldn’t stand the pressure of the process of making steel. But two men named Henry Bessemer and William Kelly found a new improved, and cheaper way to make steel. - Rubber was originally used to prevent shoes and coats from getting wet, but Charles Goodyear created a process called “curing” that allowed the rubber to be more flexible. - Coal was used more regularly after the discovery that gases from coals create light.

Predictions on Spread/Impact Products would spread through… - trade - use of the product (shoes/candles) - wars Impact on other countries: - people can walk (safer) - streets and homes were light up making things easier to do even when it was dark

Great Britain Britain was developing new invention such as rubber for shoes, process of making steel easier to make, and the developing the oil industry.

Impact on Great Britain Prediction: Cheaper and easier methods for making steel would help save money and invest in bigger and better thing for the economy

Most important advancement of the Industrial Revolution - Without the rubbers quality shoes wouldn’t have been as popular and useful as today. - Without the fast and easy way of making steels we wouldn’t produce steels as fast as today. - Products that were invented such as street lamps, paraffin, advanced rubber and steel are everyday necessities that are important to peoples everyday lives.
