Pocahontas- Saved Jamestown from a long difficult winter; was disowned by her father; married John Rolfe and moved to England

John Rolfe- The husband of Pocahontas; founded the crop of tobacco and made lots of money in Virginia

John White- A mapmaker and an artist Led the Colony at Roanoke Came back to a deserted town “Croatoan” carved onto a tree

John Smith- Captain of the Jamestown settlement Was saved by Pocohontas

Powhatan- Chief of the Powhatan People in the Virginia area; encountered the Jamestown Settlers
