Decision Support tools Valuable visual way to organise data/information so as to help make an informed choice between several options Making a decision tool (tree) requires several steps to be carried out initially: Establish all alternatives Estimate the financial /other consequences of each alternative Assign risk in term of uncertainty allied with each alternative Convention is that squares = decisions and circles = uncertain outcomes.
