Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise

Introduction to unit:- By the end of the unit you should: know a range of laboratory-based and field- based fitness tests be able to use health screening techniques be able to administer appropriate fitness tests Be able to interpret the results of fitness tests and provide feedback.

So what will we be studying in this unit? Performance related components of fitness Fitness tests (appropriate testing, results and feedback) Health screening Informed consent Health monitoring tests This will all be covered within 2 assignments 1st – addressing health screening 2nd – addressing fitness testing.

From Today and for the next few weeks…… We will be looking at health screening. Student activity Research health screening forms and consent forms. Get 2 different copies of the forms and get 2 different people to fill them in. (45mins) Hand the forms in before the end of the lesson.

Student Activity/Class Discussion What’s next? Student Activity/Class Discussion What do you know about health and consent forms? How many different types of forms could you find? What is the informed consent form used for? Write half a page describing the health and consent forms.
