Year 9 Subject Selection Genetics
Course Description This subject goes for one term. It covers DNA structure, karyotypes, pedigree analysis, and ethical issues. Students require a basic grasp of mathematics to cope with Punnett Square theory.

Subject pathway…. Students who undertake this subject acquire preparation for studying VCE Biology. Disciplines of Science covered in course include: Biology. Maths concepts such as Punnett Square analysis are also covered. VCE pathway: VCE Biology. It is strongly advised that students who choose to undertake VCE Chemistry should complete the Year 10 Chemistry course too.
Extra activities/costs? There are no extra costs to students. There are no excursions or camps with this subject. Students are expected to participate in all classroom activities.
