STATION #1 Scene 1 : CHARLIE and JEREMIAH are sitting next to one another in their social studies classroom. JORDAN sits behind JEREMIAH, and RICKY sits behind CHARLIE. MR. RODRIGUEZ is standing in front of the class. On the chalkboard behind MR. RODRIGUEZ is written “Unit Test on Wednesday.” MR. RODRIGUEZ: Okay, students. Your test will take the full period tomorrow. Are there any questions? (The room is silent. No one raises a hand. CHARLIE and JEREMIAH glance at one another and roll their eyes.) MR. RODRIGUEZ: (with enthusiasm, waving a small piece of paper in front of the class) I have a special incentive for you. The student with the highest score will receive this ticket, enabling him or her to skip the next unit test. So go and study hard, everybody! (The bell rings. Students stand and begin to file out of the classroom.)

STATION #2 Scene 1 : CHARLIE and JEREMIAH are sitting across from one another in their social studies classroom. JORDAN sits next to JEREMIAH, and RICKY sits next to CHARLIE. MR. RODRIGUEZ is standing in the back of the class. On the chalkboard in front of MR. RODRIGUEZ is written “Unit Test on Wednesday.” MR. RODRIGUEZ: Okay, students. Your test will take the full period tomorrow. Are there any questions? (The room bursts into conversation. Everyone raises their hand. CHARLIE and JEREMIAH can’t wait to ask their questions so they start talking before they’re called on. ) MR. RODRIGUEZ: (frustrated, holding a small paper in his hand) I have a special incentive for you. The student with the highest score will receive this ticket, enabling him or her to skip the next unit test. So go and study hard, everybody! (The bell rings. Students stand around and try to see the ticket that MR. RODRIGUEZ is holding.)

STATION #3 Scene 1 : CHARLIE and JEREMIAH are standing and talking in their social studies classroom. JORDAN and RICKY are playing basketball in the trashcan with the handout MR. RODRIGUEZ gave them earlier. MR. RODRIGUEZ is sitting at his desk, waiting for his students to quiet down. On the chalkboard behind MR. RODRIGUEZ is written “Unit Test on Wednesday.” MR. RODRIGUEZ: Okay, students. Your test will take the full period tomorrow. Are there any questions? (No one hears MR. RODRIGUEZ’S question because everyone is talking.) MR. RODRIGUEZ: (without shouting over his students) I have a special incentive for you. The student with the highest score will receive this ticket, enabling him or her to skip the next unit test. So go and study hard, everybody! (The bell rings. The students file out of class without hearing the incentive MR. RODRIGUEZ gave them.)
