Modern Art Movements of the Late 19th and early 20th Centuries

Task: Analyze the three primary modern art movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries Part 1: Create a Four column chart for Cubism, Surrealism, Functionalism, and Dadaism. For each identify the key artists, the characteristics of the movement, and Major works Part 2: Select a work of art that you like from each of the movements and addreess the following questions: a. Who is the audience B. What Is the Purpose? C. How does it relate to the historical context? D. What point of view does the author have? Part 3: How are music and literature affected by this time period and/or the unconscious?
