Algebra 2 Welcome to Chapter 2.1

TEACHER NOTE ONLY

Day 1 Do Now, please: State the domain and range of each relation: 1) {(-6, -1), (-5, -9), (-3, -7), (-1, -7), (6, -9)} 2)

So, What’s a Function? Function: a relation in which every element in the domain is paired with exactly one element in the range Basically, an element in the domain cannot be mapped to more than one element in the range. (Number 2 in our do now)

a) Yes b) no

What about these two?? Function or not a function?

How to Use the: Vertical Line Test

Review steps to graphing:

Closure: How many different ways can we classify a relation? HW: Online- Self Check Quiz 2.1 Email your score to me when completed ALSO: Log onto Aleks and take preassessment and begin navigating around the program.
