School-wide Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) Status Update School-wide Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS)

Two Sources of Data Implementation Fidelity: Student Outcomes: Are we doing what we said we were going to do? Student Outcomes: If we are doing what we said we were going to do, is it having an impact on student outcomes?

Answering the First Question SWPBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) Completed by the School Leadership Team With supporting documentation (e.g., Walk-Through, products) We most recently completed (identify the specific Tier(s)) on (insert date here)

SWPBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) Monitors our implementation of SWPBIS Identifies strengths for celebration Identifies areas of need for action planning Target score is 70% or higher for Tier I and 80% or higher for Tiers II and III

Our S.M.A.R.T. Objective We will implement School-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS with fidelity as measured by a Tier I scale score of at least _________% on the SWPBIS Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) by June of 2018.

TFI Total Score Report Add the graph of the most recent Total Score Report from the TFI from PBIS Assessments at www.pbisapps.org Recall that the target score for the TFI is 80% or higher. Be sure to provide a brief summary of the data found on the total score report. Remember that the total score reflects the assessment of Tiers I, II, and III. If your team did not complete all of the Tiers, the score for the Tiers not completed would be 0%. You may only want to present the TFI Total Score Report when you complete all three tiers of the TFI. If you have multiple data points for the TFI, be sure to summarize your progress over time.

TFI Scale Report Add the graph of the most recent Total Score Report from the TFI from PBIS Assessments at www.pbisapps.org Recall that the target score for the TFI is 80% or higher. Be sure to provide a brief summary of the data found on the subscale report. Be sure to explain why you may only have scale scores for particular tiers. If you have multiple data points for the TFI, be sure to summarize your progress over time.

TFI Subscale Report Add the graph of the most recent Total Score Report from the TFI from PBIS Assessments at www.pbisapps.org Recall that the target score for the TFI is 80% or higher. Be sure to provide a brief summary of the data found on the subscale report. Be sure to call out areas of relative strength and areas of need based on the data. If you have multiple data points for the TFI, be sure to summarize your progress over time.

Answering the Second Question School-wide Information System (SWIS) Data Discipline referral data Completed by all staff, as needed, throughout the school year Data source for problem solving Important to remind staff that we want the discipline referral data because it is a data source used for problem solving. A discipline referral is not a consequence, it is a data source.

SWIS Data SWIS Core Reports Average Referrals Per Day Per Month Referrals by Time Referrals by Location Referrals by Day of Week Referrals by Problem Behavior Referrals by Grade Referrals by Student

Average Referrals Per Day Per Month Insert the Average Referrals Per Day Per Month with the National Median, 25th and 75th percentile from www.pbisapps.org The national median can be added under options. Be sure to explain your data in comparison to the national median (above, below, etc.). Remind staff that the national median is based on a schools in the SWIS system with a similar grade make-up (e.g., all K-6 buildings). This data takes into consideration the number of students enrolled in your school and adjusts the national trend data to your enrollment.

Average Referrals Per Day Per Month Multi-Year Graph Insert the Average Referrals Per Day Per Month Multi-Year graph from SWIS at www.pbisapps.org Include the national median data on the graph by selecting this under options. Be sure to explain the current year’s data in comparison to previous years.

Referral by Time Insert the Referrals by time graph for the current school year. From SWIS at www.pbisapps.org

Referrals by Location Insert the Referrals by Location for the current year from SWIS at www.pbisapps.org

Referrals by Day of Week Insert the Referrals by Day of Week for the current year from SWIS at www.pbisapps.org

Referrals by Problem Behavior Insert Referral by Problem Behavior graph for the most current school year from SWIS at www.pbisapps.org

Referrals by Student Insert Referrals by Student graph from SWIS at www.pbisapps.org

Putting it All Together Summarize your data to answer the initial two questions: Are we doing what we said we would do? If we are doing what we said we would do, is it having an impact on students? Recall this is a big picture summary of overall implementation.

Next Steps Summarize the next steps for SWPBIS in your school along with any specific next steps for the plan to address any precise problem statements that may have resulted from the problem solving your school leadership team engaged in during your analysis of SWIS data at your team meeting. This is a good time to get staff input and feedback on overall implementation of SWPBIS along with any plans you’ve developed to address areas of need.
