Innovation intensity tabulations 2008 discussion in CIS Workshop in July; request made 29/10 with Excel templates for providing simple statistics by NACE 2- and 3-digit codes in weighted and un-weighted forms; few data sets received and many authorisations obtained for Eurostat doing this work in-house using provided microdata; the objective of this work is to continue the discussion on the sectoral innovation intensities (started by the OECD) by covering more countries (all EU27… all CIS…) and doing more calculations and testing using also later stage 2010 data; countries not having yet started preparations for the extra tabulations are encouraged doing so, in particular countries not having provided CIS 2008 microdata to Eurostat; further authorisations for Eurostat executing the work are also welcomed. Science Technology Innovation Statistics 22-23 November 2012 After CIS 2012 #2 ! combined surveys ? coordinated surveys ? ! cognitive testing of Oslo Manual concepts, definitions and questions  even if we agree that the introduction of ABS braking or GPS navigation system in cars is significant improvement (OM§160) how are we able to convey this information to the respondents (in all sectors, countries)?  the quality of the numerical variables depends on the 1) implementation of the innovation definition (above) and 2) enterprises' ability and will to have the requested data extracted (estimated) from their accounts Science Technology Innovation Statistics 22-23 November 2012
