Project: Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Goal Progress Promote UAS technology for applications that benefit IEEE AESS members Milestone Target Completion % Complete Meet with AUVSI in Washington DC www.auvsi.org May 2015 AUVSI2015 in ATL that week. Work with the leading AESS University student branches to determine UAS interest in competitions- identify funding Dec 2014 Eight Univ. Show interest Work with AESS Chapters to promote UAS activities and provide topic speakers. 30 April 2015 50% show interest in UAS Contact UAS Industry leaders about sponsoring events and advertising in AESS Systems magazine for special issue. 1 October 2015 UAS Trends and impact Three UAS presentations: NJIT 12 March 40attendees, OKC 30March 41 attendees and Wichita, KS 20 attendees Monitor UAS competition projects and request AESS Board support to support Universities to compete. Determine current UAS interest and engagement by AESS Chapters. Budget / Resources The 2015 AESS budget includes $1,000 funding for the technical panels. Additional funding may be requested as new initiatives. Project Success - Metrics Increase UAS activity for AESS to grow membership by 5% annually
