How To Give an Effective Presentation

Four Cardinal Rules Make sure you have something to say, applicable to audience Speak clearly Be comfortable with your style Nothing will help if the information is weak

How You Can Deliver a Good Presentation 8 Easy Steps on How You Can Deliver a Good Presentation Explain difference in the three types of audits

1. The Power of Persuasion Gain the audience's attention (presentation, clothing, attitude e.g.) Make your materials understandable Keep your audience interested (background music, reaila, pictures) Bring closure The last item is the one you can control

2. You are the Message Gestures - Be aware of your facial expressions, keep a true smile. Eye Contact - Keep your eyes on the audience, NOT the equipment Movements & Posture – Reflect positive body language Voice and Modulation - Practice on how you sound before your presentation This is the first thing that auditors will request. Be sure new emp are given a copy. If you’ve found a better way to do a procedure that what you have in your policies, you will be written up because you aren’t following the established procedures. So keep them current.

3. On Being Confident Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse - Have enough practise time before the presentation Make sure you know the script Practice the set up of equipment Document Common criticism.

4. Have An Outline Introduce Yourself – Introduce the Topic - Get Attention (Why Should They Listen) Clearly Define the Topic Summarize main points Answer questions

5. Use Visuals Be Simple and Clear. Use Variety PowerPoint Slides Overhead Transparencies Graphs/Charts Pictures Films/Video/Songs Document

6. On Using TEXT and Graphics Color can create excitement and add emphasis DO NOT use too many colors or fonts Stay with the same color scheme: Use color wisely Contrasting colors Titles should be 38-44 pt. font size Text should be 28 pt font size Document!
