Your Guide for Freshman Registration Your Goal is to earn 24 credits * 6 classes / each year x 4 years = a chance to earn 24 credits - this means you need to pass EVERY class in order to graduation on time! Sem 1 Sem 2 .5 cr A-D grade/ 0=F .5 cr A-D grade/ 0=F 3 credits semester 1 + 3 credits semester 2 = 6 credits per year Required credits are broken down into specific areas and requirements. (*must take specific classes to graduate from KSD and to qualify for College admission)

Classes you must to choose freshman year 1 year of English 9 (either CORE or HONORS 1.0 credit) 1 year of Social Studies (either Core World Studies or AP World History 1.0 credit) 1 year of Integrated Science / Biology (1.0 credit) 1 year of Math (1.0 credit, see below) 1 Semester of Health Class (.5 credit) 1 year of World Language (if you have C’s or higher in your current 8th grade classes) *(1.0 credit world language, plus .5 credit elective =1.5 cr total) or Electives / Fine Art or Occ. Ed. (1.5 credit total) Intro to Algebra/ Pre Alg. or 8th grade math Algebra Geometry Algebra 3-4

Your Task… Goal: 6.0 credits Select 4.5 credits in the grey box Students choosing honors or math above Algebra need eight grade subject teacher(s) approval Select 1.5 credits from outside the grey box.
