Cash-n-Carry What? When? Why? US will sell items to Allies Allies must pay cash for the items and come pick the item up themselves When? 1939 – WWII has officially started in Europe Why? Pay cash so we don’t have war debt like before Don’t want US ships on war seas

Selective Service Act What? When? Why? Draft for the military 1940 To have soldiers trained and ready just in case we become part of WWII

Lend Lease Act Why? What? When? US will ship, loan, or lease any supply to a country whose defense is essential to the defense of the US When? 1940 Why? Help allies fight the enemy If allies are strong enough to fight the enemies then they won’t need the US to get involved
