WISE SoE 2015–2016 State of play WG DIS – Copenhagen - 27 May 2016 Fernanda Néry

WISE SoE River water quality WISE-4 Lake water quality WFD spatial River water quality WISE-4 + biology Lake water quality + biology Groundwater quality Water quantity * WISE-3 Quick list of the data flows: this are the traditional WISE SoE data flows. Water Quality – in rivers, lakes and groundwater, including nutrients & hazardous substances. These have been running since around 2000. http://rod.eionet.europa.eu/contacts?roleId=eionet-nrc-waterquality Biology data is also reported here (except groundwater for obvious reasons). Water Quantity – including water use (abstraction and returns per sector of economic activity) WISE-SoE dataflow since 2009 http://rod.eionet.europa.eu/contacts?roleId=eionet-nrc-waterquantity Emissions to water – including point sources, but also diffuse sources WISE-SoE dataflow since 2008 (test reporting) http://rod.eionet.europa.eu/contacts?roleId=eionet-nrc-wateremissions Emissions to water * WISE-1

Provisional ! Status Number of deliveries (166 “envelopes”) footnotes: HU will report end of December 2016.  IT will report end of October 2016

Status Provisional ! 2016-05-20

Status = final feedback Provisional ! ETC is reviewing (17 “envelopes”)

Status = correction request Provisional ! ETC request for correction (26 “envelopes”)

Status = draft Provisional ! Inc. resubmissions (24 “envelopes”)

Status = draft Provisional ! Inc. resubmissions (24 “envelopes”)

Status = technically accepted Provisional ! (99 “envelopes”)

Old smiley criteria Provisional ! …at least * * * average

Water Quality Provisional ! All released envelopes “sites” (not unique!) Mostly disaggregated data (i.e. sample data) Nearly no reporting at WaterBody level Sparse reporting of Biology data

Water Quality Provisional ! (all released envelopes) Reporting of nutrients and HZ looks balanced (number of sites) Sparse reporting of Biology data

Water Quality Provisional ! All released envelopes “sites” (not unique!) Groundwater mainly ? Data still in draft or to be reported later (e.g. PT) TeW and TW ?

On going work…

WISE SoE data flows 1.7  1.8 here in 2012 there in 2013 Bottom line is the status 2 years ago. →→ Right column is the status 1 year ago ↑↑ Upper right quadrant is the place to be. Or else move along the ladder. Down want countries falling to the grey area… So across the 5 data flows, there a small improvement. Not impressive ( but not random… p<0.00 chi dependent samples). However the most frequent status is still 2. And still 13 cases where there was no reporting. Now the story per data flow is more informative. here in 2012 there in 2013
