Make sure you bring your Reading Log! I will let you know when you have 7 minutes left to complete your Reading Log DO NOT WASTE TIME and do not waste the opportunity to read. You abuse it, I will revoke it.

Today: You will begin a class list. In your groups, come up with a list of words you feel should be in the dictionary. Then, add them to the group list on the board. Please pay attention and don’t repeat words After about 10 minutes, you will be assigned to a classroom Go to that classroom and see if any students can add to your list. Make sure you explain what you need (they don’t know) No need to get definitions, just a list of words When you get back, add any words you find. Ms. Sue Ms. Klette Ms. Spahr Ms. Stewart

Until the bell rings: Work on your PBL. As a group, brainstorm & create a rubric for this project Remember to include the requirements that I have listed and explain what an A,B, C, D, & F is Each dictionary must include the following for each word: Definition Etymology (the origin of words and the way in which their meanings have changed) Pronunciation Part of speech Connotation (feeling that a word invokes) Use in a sentence Add at least 2 more areas of grading you feel should be required Make sure you have a format set for your dictionary! Make sure the format is in the rubric!

Before you leave: Pick at least 5 words you definitely want in your dictionary. I will try to accommodate, but do not want repeats
