L/O: To structure and write a good introduction How to start? L/O: To structure and write a good introduction Do you recognise these areas?

Introduction Suggested Structure Hypotheses Key Questions x 5 Definition of QOL and SOL and how overlap (spider diagrams?) Written location of areas + maps of areas linked to one photo of each. Discuss how typical your areas are for The center of Seville and the outskirts (could add examples onto the annotation of the map but up to you!) ) Remember! These are just suggestions. Make your enquiry your own and work independently

We will be comparing the quality of life in Triana and Tomares. Your CW Hypothesis We will be comparing the quality of life in Triana and Tomares. Overall Hypothesis: In Seville the quality of life in Triana (city center) is lower than in Tomares (Urban rural fringe). Other hypotheses: There will be more traffic in Triana compared with Tomares There will be less living space and a lower quality of housing in Triana than Tomares Houses will be larger and better quality in Tomares compared with Triana. FOR HIGHEST MARKS THINK AND TEST YOUR OWN HYPOTHESIS

Introduction Suggested Structure Hypothesis Key Questions x 5 Definition of QOL and SOL and how overlap (spider diagrams?) Written location of areas + maps of areas linked to one photo of each. Discuss how typical your areas are for Seville (could add examples onto the annotation of the map but up to you!) ) Remember! These are just suggestions. Make your enquiry your own and work independently

5 suggested Key Questions Is the housing in Tomares better than in Triana? Are the services in Triana better than in Tomares? Is the environment in Tomares better than in Triana? ? (Culture? Ethnic diversity? Religion? Jobs? Salaries? Crime? Education? Transport?)

Introduction Suggested Structure Hypothesis Key Questions x 5 Definition of QOL and SOL and how overlap (you could do spider diagrams?) Written location of areas + maps of areas linked to one photo of each. Discuss how typical your areas are for SE London (could add examples onto the annotation of the map but up to you!) ) Remember! These are just suggestions. Make your enquiry your own and work independently

QOL + SOL ??? 1) Explain fully the meaning of: Quality of Life Standard of living 2) How do they overlap? i.e. Why does a good SOL (money) often mean a good QOL (how good life is)?

Introduction Suggested Structure Hypothesis Key Questions x 5 Definition of QOL and SOL and how overlap (spider diagrams?) Written location of areas + maps of areas linked to one photo of each. Discuss how typical your areas are for SE London (could add examples onto the annotation of the map but up to you!) ) Remember! These are just suggestions. Intro suggestion: Annotate map to explain location of Triana and Tomares

Your H/W Read carefully through your info on your enquiry so you feel comfortable about the task so far – Structure, mark scheme, does/don’ts etc Go on line or visit and research Triana and Tomares. Find any information you can relevant to the 2 areas’ current QOL. Write a side in your own words and put your information under appropriate subtitle(s) such as political, social, cultural, economic, environmental, physical, historical background and the current issues. Remember use “quotes and figures” and reference them!
