EPA’s Organizational Leadership Enterprise What is it? How are we doing it? Who is participating? What future activities are planned? Lessons learned? What is needed from the HRC? Panel Insights

What is it? A context for organizational renewal, the work of the 21st century Moving organizations toward higher performance Clarifying importance of work for individuals and the organization Strengthening measurable results and accountability Supporting the President’s Management Agenda and the Human Capital Plan

How are we doing it? Under oversight of the National HRC per November 2000 briefing Staffed by the EPA Institute and consists of an executive leadership seminar called the High Performance Organizations- 2 1/2 -3 day seminar--theory and levers of leadership; Consulting Tools Seminar to build in-house capacity to help organizations make the theory work for them- 2 1/2 day seminar; National Dialogue Forums to help strengthen both communications and the network of participants who are implementing OLE initiatives-two per year. Three held to date Consultation Services to work with implementers in follow-up work

Who is participating? Several program offices including Region 4,5,7, OSW, OARM, OPPTS, IG. and ORD Others interested include, OW Superfund, Region 9, and SES Candidate Program

Future Activities Strengthen OLE Network Participate in FEI’s National Change Conference Sponsor fourth National OLE Dialogue Forum Sponsor third Consulting Tools Seminar Provide ongoing leadership consultation and coaching activities

Lessons Learned Continued visible commitment from Senior Leadership; and Adequate resources.

What we need from the HRC? HRC attend HPO Seminar (December 2002) HRC support for the OLE Charter Influence 2-3 new FTEs in each Region/Program Office- to provide organizational development consultation and executive coaching
