The sale of new 2-stroke outboard are banned in: Europe Canada Australia New Zealand Since December 2011 there has been a complete ban on the importation and sale of 2-stroke OBMS in Nigeria by the Federal Government Why are they banned??? Alcohol, cigarettes and cars are not.

Two stroke engines are banned

Disadvantage's and dangers of a 2-stroke marine engine A 2-stroke outboard motor has an engine that mixes engine oil with fuel to function…. While 4-stroke OBM has an engine that uses pure clean petrol without the addition of oil. A 2-stroke OBM is likely to suffer mechanical failure, due to non-constant engine lubrication, while a 4-stroke has a permanent oil sump for perfect lubrication. The 2-stroke engine emits significant amounts of particulate matter (PM), un-burnt hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx). CO and Nox emissions when compared to 4-stroke engines. Exhaust emissions, particularly the finer ones, are associated with respiratory problems. Causing lung and bladder cancers and other associated diseases Allow me to elaborate

ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES OF 4-STROKE From comprehensive analysis and market data we found that a typical 40hp 2 stroke OBM uses an average of 40 litres of fuel plus 1.6 litres of engine oil for every 7-8hrs trip A Suzuki 4-stroke OBM uses 25 litres of fuel for every 7-8hour trip, without adding oil to the petrol. Therefore a 2-stroke engine uses on average 60% more fuel than a modern, clean 4-stroke. Over a year therefore a saving of over Naira 400,000 for a typical user.

Boulos is the official importer of SUZUKI OBMs for Nigeria We offer the strength of the Boulos name and reputation We have been operating in Lagos since 1955 We offer unparalleled service and backup Without doubt SUZUKI 4-stroke marine engines are the best in the world

To try and communicate the dangers of 2-stroke to the fishermen we created the concept of two fishermen cartoon characters to appeal with humour and simplicity, called Mr. Smart and Mr. Timi, We have reproduced A4 flyers for distribution and larger A3 for display in places of work and their homes. Also advertised on radio stations in various languages at fishing locations. Lastly we undertake regular visits to sensitize them to the dangers of 2-stroke

THANK YOU SUZUKI 4 STROKE Legal, Clean, Safe 4 Stroke Thank you. Questions and Answers
