Turning the World Upside Down for Christ GOSPEL Acts 17:6 – “These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.”

It was done in the city of Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-6). It was done by the Church in the first century (Colossians 1:23). “If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”

1. THEY TRULY LOVED THE LORD. HOW DID THEY DO IT? 1. THEY TRULY LOVED THE LORD. Mark 16:15 – “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” 1 John 5:3 – “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” 1 John 3:18 – “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”

2. THEY WERE HAVING FAVOR WITH THE PEOPLE. Acts 2:47 – “Praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Philippians 1:20 – “According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.”

3. THEY WERE TEACHING DAILY. Acts 5:42 – “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” Acts 8:4 – “Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.”

WHY SHOULD WE TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN FOR CHRIST? 1. TO BRING MANY SONS TO GLORY. Hebrews 2:10 – “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”

2. To save a soul from death. James 5:20 – “Let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”
