EPICS at SSRF/Shaghai in March.2008, n.kami, KEK Progress in the Recent 1-year (Continued) Linac : Goal is 181MeVx{30mA,500us,25Hz} –Studies toward high power operation {5mA,20us,2.5Hz} in Jan.2007 #1 st successful beam -> Jun.2007: {5mA,50us,25Hz}, {5mA,250us,5Hz} # high duty -> Jan.2008: {30mA,50us,1Hz} # high beam-current –Various improvements using beam diagnostics systems But more studies needed RCS : Beam accelerated to the design value, 3GeV –1 bunch operation: 4.4x10^12 ppb with 25Hz (52.5kW) peak current 25mA, bunch width 560ns, for 4 minutes Beam loss is at injection collimators –Toward stable operation with 20kW output in 2008 Not enough RF power for higher power operation More spare parts for MR test and future regular operation
