What? YouTube Video – click here Universal Studios closes down their theme parks admitting only 8th graders, chaperones & school staff within for the evening. Both Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure are accessible City Walk is closed off from Gradventure. Annual passes and discounts can’t be used on Gradventure nights.

When? May 12, 2017 Bus will depart Windy Hill Middle @ 3:30pm and will arrive back on campus at 12:30am Students will be restricted to Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure between the hours of 4pm & Midnight.

eligibility Students must abide by the Characters Counts Contract (See Below)

Cost? The cost to attend will be $95 per student $18 for their seat on the charter bus $7 for t-shirt $70 for Universal Gradventure admission Money will be collected in the mornings the week of February 6th, 2017 in Ms. Benner’s classroom between 9:00 & 9:15am. The money will be due on February 10th, 2017 @ 9:15am  NO EXCEPTIONS will be made.

Work study Through the efforts of NJHS there are funds available to assist students with financial needs of students wishing to attend field trips. Students must complete an application and turn it into Ms. McCullough’s mailbox in the front office. A committee reviews the applications and take the following into account Financial need Discibpline record # of absences # of tardies Teacher recommendations Administrator recommendations

Work study cont. . . If selected for the program students will be matched with a participated teacher where they will log hours on a time sheet for pay. All work must be done outside of school hours (9:00am – 4:15pm) Parents will be responsible for providing transportation and being on time Students receive $8 for every hour volunteered. For Gradventure they will need 12 hours of work study to cover the entire cost. If a student becomes ineligible of the trip after working their hours the money will be refunded into the funds for other students.

Requirements of volunteers Complete online volunteer application (even if employed by lake county schools. Do not click the box that indicates you do NOT want to receive emails from SearchSoft. Select Level 2 Volunteer and be fingerprinted in order to chaperone Gradventure as you will be responsible for students outside of teacher supervision. Select Windy Hill Middle as your first choice school Mrs. Arthurs will send you an email with instructions to fill out the attached form. You will need to submit an original, signed, form to Mrs. Arthurs Mrs. Arthurs will then forward your application to the County office You then make an appointment for fingerprinting. There is a location in the Kings Ridge Publix shopping center. This may take between 2 – 3 weeks to return. Deadline for Volunteer approval is February 2nd
