Conventions of the ILO The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the international organization responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labour standards The ILO’s diverse tasks are grouped under 4 strategic objectives  Promote and realize standards and fundamental principles and rights at work  Create greater opportunities for women and men to secure decent employment and income  Enhance the coverage and effectiveness of social protection for all  Strengthen social dialogue

Modes of operation  Creates international labour standards to serve as guidelines for national authorities in putting these programs into action  Implements technical cooperation projects to assist countries in making these policies effective in practice  Conduct training, education, research and publishing activities to help advance all of these efforts Conventions of the ILO
