Communication is the KEY MEMBERS BOARD OFFICERS ADVISORS LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR EXECUTIVES Greet the members at the door. Acknowledge everyone. If there is any trouble, be sure to address it. Many board officers complain, “I was not given any work to do” Assign tasks and make sure that all tasks assigned are completed. They may help you with any situation. They have the experience! Your Lieutenant Governor has the information about district events and opportunities.

Bad email 

Good email  Everyone has their own style Color, bolding, and underlining help point out specific facts Remember to send emails To: yourself, but BCC the club members. This makes sure that no one can look at someone else’s email!

4 Steps

A week before the club meeting Email all members with upcoming dates, reminders, and thank you’s (see email slide)

At club meeting Have a sign up sheet that is passed around the members and interested members write their name and phone number Have a PowerPoint with upcoming events / notices

Right after the club meeting Upload the PowerPoint onto the club website AND /OR Facebook page Email the PowerPoint to the club members

Day before event Text all members who signed up Example: “Hi everyone, this is Anna from Key Club! Thank you for signing up for the Eskaton Senior Center Board Game event. It will be tomorrow from 10-12 at 8550 Barton Rd Granite Bay. Thanks!”

Membership Recruitment Club Day TV Bulletin Reminders Intercom Reminders Post flyers outside of advisor’s classroom (flyers and brochures are available for free in Kiwanis Store) Visit individual classrooms (Government, etc) if they are focused on community service or require community service hours Post what Key Club is on the school website (parents see this!)

Meeting Attendance Have members run activities / ice breakers Speakers Service projects during meetings Start and end on time (increases trust) Hand out candy for Key Club trivia answers Give out monthly awards (advertise this beforehand) Greet everyone at the door, and say goodbye /thanks (you are a friend and a leader!) Making cards for soldiers or senior citizens Collecting recycling from each classroom Offer to help teachers in whichever way they need it Clean up the school Make bookmarks to give to elementary schools

Event Attendance Remind members of monthly awards and scholarships Remind them of responsibility once you sign up (if you can’t make it, you need to find someone else who will go for you) Text messages the day before Say thank you in person and online Monthly and predictable events Ask your members: where do YOU want to volunteer?
