Audience Who is the audience for this film? How do you know? Could there be another audience? What ideologies are present in this poster? How do you know?

Audience Demographics List the many different demographics (categories) an audience can be broken into. Age Gender Social class Where they live Sexuality Ethnicity Ability/disability Interests/hobbies What are the benefits and drawbacks of measuring audiences in this way?

Tesco is a grocery and general merchandise retailer Tesco is a grocery and general merchandise retailer. It is extremely important for them to research audience demographics in order to cater for the needs of their consumers and how to stock their shops.

List the demographics for each Tesco store Tesco in Wembley: A large (extra) store selling food, clothing, technology and products for the home. The store is beside IKEA Large Asian demographic with aisles catering for cuisines in that region Special offers for religious/cultural events relating to those regions An aisle dedicated to products from Ireland Tesco in Uxbridge: Is a small store (express) Only sells food A university town An aisle dedicated to American products Products are mostly from the Tesco everyday range Tesco in Golders Green: Only sell food A number of aisles catering for kosher foods Special offers for religious/cultural events relating to those regions Many of their products are from Tesco’s finest range List the demographics for each Tesco store What does this information tell you about the needs of each audience?
