Electoral College On election day you vote for… Electors! “each state shall appoint, in such a manner as the legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the state may be entitled in Congress.” 34 states’ electors are chosen by party conventions. 10 states’ electors use nominations by state political committees. Pennsylvania allows the candidate to nominate electors.
