What is an Impact Assessment? A set of logical steps to be followed when preparing policy proposals A process that prepares evidence for political decision-makers… …on the advantages and disadvantages of possible policy options

Why do we do an IA? Shows that decisions are based on evidence Brings more transparency into decision making process Promotes coherence across the Commission Helps preparing better policy proposals
