Courses transfer both directions so you complete TWO degrees, one at each school. You receive both degrees at the end of the program.

The Schools University of Washington at St. Louis (St. Louis, MO) Columbia University (New York, NY) University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY) All accept 4-2 as well as 3-2. WashU has 4-3 (and even 3-3) leading to second BS and MS. Columbia has 4-2 Masters without the second BS.

Pre-Engineering Courses Mathematics 111, 112, 211 (212, 225) Physics 111,112,211 (FY) or 109,110 (soph) Chemistry 105 (counts as STS) or 107 Computer Science 107 (nonCS) or 111 (CS) Econ 103 or 104 (only required for Columbia) English Composition Non-technical courses (see individual school requirements, Columbia requires 7)

Your tasks: Take a math course every semester Take intro course toward GC major this semester Don’t forget English Composition (or equivalent) GPA – at least 3.0 overall AND 3.0 in STEM courses (this is NOT the same as your major GPA) Columbia is particularly competitive – 3.3 GPA Research the types of engineering Look at course specifics by engineering discipline Meet with Prof. Sato in late fall for Spring course planning and/or now if you have questions for Fall. ysato@gettysburg.edu, 717-337-6074, Masters 202 Web: Academics > Physics > Programs > Dual-Degree Engineering Program
