Process The client, not the therapist, is at the heart of the therapy Encourage clients own self insight Help them to move away from the self they are not, toward their true self “to be that self that one truly is” Become fully functioning The three “necessary and sufficient” conditions for growth and change in personality Congruence Unconditional Positive Regard Empathetic Understanding The Therapists Role: to give to clients a relationship with the above three conditions as most have never experienced
