Connecting American Manufacturing

AF ManTech Role Three performers were selected for the CAM Program. The government does not endorse one particular marketplace. The government role is to define the objectives of the CAM program. The end result of CAM will not be a competitive down-select. 2/7/ Version 3.4Connecting American Manufacturing2

CAM Introduction Opportunity: Estimated that yearly military spending on maintenance of equipment is upwards of $150 billion about $80 billion for weapons upkeep and $70 billion for supplies and spare parts. Government buyers faces issues: – Difficulty finding qualified suppliers – Lack of competition Suppliers face issues working with the government: – Time and cost of finding opportunities – Inconsistency of information Connecting American Manufacturing3

CAM Overview Objectives – Make it easier and more attractive for U.S. manufacturers to work with the DoD – Improve the DoDs ability to find U.S. manufacturers with the right capability and capacity at the right time Key metrics – Increase pool of DoD manufacturers – Increase number of responses per RFQ – Decrease parts price with no loss of quality – Decrease customer wait time Connecting American Manufacturing4

Goal #1: Reduce DoD Barriers Hard to evaluate requirements Difficult to find opportunities Non-DoD Manufacturers DoD Manufacturers Financial return Patriotism Supplier Motivation CAM Phase 1 starts with a focus on the first two barriers Hard-wired opportunities Repeated certs within DoD Low financial returns Lack of past performance Need for separate DoD group Lack of demand visibility Connecting American Manufacturing5 Supplier Barriers Technical data challenges

U.S. Industrial Base Goal #2: Expand Mfg Pool ~330,000 Marketplace A ~100,000 Ideal state is to have efficient access to all U.S. manufac- turers to find a supplier with the right capability and capacity at the right time. Connecting American Manufacturing DoD ~36,000 6 Marketplace C ~7,000 Marketplace D ~13,000 Marketplace B ~20,000 CAM will reach more manufacturers by leveraging their participation in various manufacturing marketplaces. CAM will help DoD reach more manufacturers by leveraging their participation in various manufacturing marketplaces. Marketplace E ~500
