Communities, Government, and Citizens Mrs. Lachowicz’s Jan. 29th Important Dates Feb. 5:Valentine Rockets-Your child needs a clean, empty 2 liter plastic pop bottle in order to make it. Feb. 6: ½ Day of School Feb. 14: Valentine’s Day Party (bring Valentines with names on them for your classmates – class list coming next week) Feb. 19: President’s Day, No School Health Fighting Germs Science Solids and Liquids Social Studies Communities, Government, and Citizens English Language Arts Story: “A Big Blizzard” *Skill: Visualization, Compare and Contrast *Vocabulary: visualize, blizzard, storm, mighty, wind gusts, stranded *Grammar: Shades of Meaning (words with a slightly different meaning to give the reader a better picture – example: big, enormous *Phonics/Word Study: Check your child’s folder for his/her Spelling List with the new pattern. *Test Friday Math Unit 4 Inches, Feet & Yards Proportion & Fractions Thinking in Threes
