Digital Project! Technology vs. Nature

Conception The concept of this project stems from technology vs. nature. My first thesis revolved around the idea that technology was helping people live forever and that fought the natural law. So, I thought Arc Reactor. In Iron man the Arc Reactor was the single tool that kept iron man alive, so it turned out to be the perfect example. However, I still needed to show the natural aspect of things so I went on thingiverse and found the biosphere.

Attempt 1 Along with attempt 1 came the development of my thesis. When I began to play with the objects on blender I was able to combine the 2 objects in such a way that spark an idea. By having the biosphere engulf a deformed Arc Reactor the idea that technology vs. nature really comes to life. With the biosphere seemingly eating the Arc Reactor, the idea that nature will always win really takes shape.

ATTEMPT 2 This is where I try to make the bio more of a parasite. By making it shrink down onto the Arc Reactor it makes it really look like it is being eaten my nature. This was perfect at the time because that was the effect I wanted, the effect of absorption.

Final decision With my final try on this project i had my thesis written and I confined my thesis to talk only about the influenza virus. Because I was able to focus on one virus I thought my object should reflect that and thus came the exploding cell from the Arc Reactor. I wanted the biosphere to really act like a virus and explode from the host and with this attempt I hopefully showed it.
