Facts about Listening We spend 50% or more of communication time listening. Most of us remember about 50% of what we hear shortly after, and only 20% after two days.

Hearing The physiological process that occurs when sound waves enter the auditory canal, strike the eardrum, and vibrate

Listening is a decision! The act of mindfully hearing & attempting to comprehend the meaning of words spoken by another person in a conversation. Listening is a decision!

The Process of Effective Listening Attending Understanding Responding Remembering

The process of focusing on what a speaker is saying Attending The process of focusing on what a speaker is saying regardless of distractions
