Raising young people’s awareness on preparedness and self protection – YAPS

Project background In most of the European countries the knowledge regarding measures taken in self-help and -protection is very poor An effective and proactive education program has to be provided across all levels of the population Young people will require a special approach, as they have to be engaged in a different manner to adults it is important and useful to raise young peoples awareness towards possible dangers in everyday life In doing so, they will learn very fast how to protect themselves against potential threats Most accidents can be avoided by prevention through effective education and training 27.11.2018 | Titel der Präsentation | Abteilung |

Project objectives To make the young people’s environment safer To raise their awareness towards possible dangers in everyday life To develop systems for education and advanced training for the proposed target group To Introduce special requirements for young people into emergency and disaster preparedness and prevention programmes To look at existing structures and procedures in participating organisations and countries To identify and compile best-practice examples in the participating countries and recommend them for implementation in other EU Member States. 27.11.2018 | Titel der Präsentation | Abteilung |

Outcome - Expected results Strengthen the self-help competencies of young people by offering training to the educational system of the partner countries Achieve widespread publicity to the target audience during the project duration Ensure a education and training system within the partner countries by conducting Train-of-Trainers-Workshop; trained participants will conduct the ToTs as “master-trainers” in the partner countries Offer computer games, working sheets, methodological-didactical comments and story books in different languages Offer recommendations for emergency and disaster response staff to promote the needs of young people in case of emergencies Ensure the European Union added value in disaster preparedness by disseminating the developed material in English language to other Member States |
