Voting Assistance Element 49

Purpose of Voting Assistance Transitioning service members will no longer be covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). UOCAVA includes spouses and eligible family members as well.

Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) FVAP.GOV is a website designed to assist service members and their families with the voting process. Information for separating members is also found here.

Summary Separating members will have to contact their state they are living in or moving to and fill out appropriate documentation. Federal Voting Assistance Program is the best resource for voting for active duty, reserve or separating members.
