“Christ In You” Colossians 1:27

“Christ In You” Colossians 1-2 The all-sufficient Christ. Colossians 3-4 How our relationship with Christ influences our conduct among men.

“Christ In You” The all-sufficient Christ. Dangers in Colossae: First Century AD. 1. Failure to do justice to the person and work of Jesus Christ (1:13-20) 2. The influence of philosophy (2:4-10; cf. verse 3) 3. The influence of the observance of rites and customs of the Jewish religion (2:13-17, 20- 23; cf. Acts 15:1; cf. Galatians, Romans, Hebrews) 4. The worship of angels (2:18-19)

“Christ In You” Influences action in the various relationships of life. Christ dwells in the Christian. (1:27 “Christ in you, the hope of glory”) (cf. Galatians 2:20) Christ dwells in Jews and Gentiles alike. (cf. Ephesians 3:6)

Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, (who is) our life, shall be manifested, then shall ye also with him be manifested in glory.”
