Membership Recruitment Membership Recruitment by _____________________________ Angelica Roxas, D13S Lt. Governor

How can I recruit members? Ask your friends to join and promote the club around school. Create posters and post on the school bulletin to help advertise meetings and events (anything Key Club related). You cannot over-advertise something so make sure the word gets out to everyone. ( Do be respectful to other clubs & ask for permission to hang up posters) also make sure to have your school ASB’s approval Ask them to personally promote Key Club Ask friends and family to get involved. Ask your audience to explain what Key Club really is and what we do. Also share with your audience some benefits of Key Club. Membership Recruitment

What other ways can I recruit members? Make use of school events such as club rush, which is basically a showcase of the clubs at school usually during lunch. Intrigue them with an incentive; Free food always works! Represent yourself to others and the community you serve. Dress to impress. Bring them to events! Show them what Key Club truly is about! Give them interesting events Look approachable First impressions are everything. Make sure to represent yourself well and show that you’re having a good time (club meetings) Explain what Key Club means to you and ask what the audience thinks Be interactive with your audience and make sure to smile  Membership Recruitment

Get help from outside sources; ask your Lt.G or Kiwanis to help you. Advertise fun events like Fall Rally South (FRS), Region Training Conference (RTC) and fun service projects. For example, beach clean-ups or volunteering at local fairs. Get help from outside sources; ask your Lt.G or Kiwanis to help you. Do small things for the members that you serve. e.g. Bring them treats, carpool, or get to know them. Become friends! Utilize flyers, brochures, and etc. Talk about what Fall Rally and RTC is and make sure that the audience you are presenting to also understands. Give examples of service projects you might have done that drew a lot of members Make sure they understand that you and Kiwanis are there for them. Use some examples of small things that may not be on the PP. Membership Recruitment

Other ideas may include: Key Club booth at school registration. Use fun facts such as “Did you know that Tom Cruise and Bill Clinton were both in Key Club?” – True Fact Get a head start ! Ask your school if they will allow your club to promote at freshman orientation Also explain these bullet points Give your own ideas Make sure that the Key Club booth is presented to the admins before August. And maybe ask for their ideas as well. Make sure to explain that (this idea should be planned out and presented to school admins BEFORE August) Examples are on next slide Membership Recruitment

Bond and talk regularly with the members Speak to the members that stay to themselves and help them make friends or BE THEIR FRIEND Things like icebreakers or friendly introductions WILL HELP. Try to have your more active members bring at least one new person to a meeting. MAKE IT A FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT. Make them feel at home at all times ! Ensure no one is alone. Just going back to other ways on recruiting members. Make sure to not look frightened or intimidating and smile . Give a few tips on your own and some examples of icebreakers you like to play.
