Weekly News Board Introduced Local, National, International

The News All must: be able to recognise a form of media telling the news. Most should: be able to look at pictures in the news and guess what they are about. Some could: be able to select a piece of news that interests them.

Can you think of the different ways we can view the news?

Local News

National News

International News

Task: –To use 1 of the types of media to find a piece of news for the news board. –To pretend to be a news reporter and feedback a piece of news.

Emma Draycott FocusComments/Feedback Engagement All pupils were keen and motivated to find out about the news. They accepted the concept well and by the end of the lesson they were beginning to understand the difference between local, national and international. To consolidate over next few sessions before developing further Progression Activities Julie Rawlings FocusComments/Feedback Engagement Pupils were very motivated by the topic. Many watched the news and knew some stories which were in the news that week. Concentrated on local news and many wanted to look at LCFC.
