Surrealism & Photomontage “The camera is a fluid way of encountering that other reality.” – Jerry Uelsmann
What is Surrealism?
Surrealism is aimed at expressing imaginative dreams and visions free from conscious rational control. How do you create without making a conscious decision??? Symbolism – How to use it? An artistic and poetic movement or style using symbolic images and indirect suggestion to express mystical ideas, emotions, and states of mind. Symbolist painters wanted their pictures to depict a meaning beyond just the figures they drew. The gown forms a powerful symbol of a person changing their identity as well as the hope of the future.
