ROMANS Called to Be Conformed ROMANS 8:28

Working All Things Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.

KEY POINT #1 Positive outcomes in life are reserved for those who love God

KEY POINT #2 True love produces unconditional faith.

Working All Things Faith & love work together Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

KEY POINT #3 Those that love God with feelings seek momentary fixes. Those that love God in truth seek  perfect conclusions

Working All Things Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be revealed in us.   #1 One who loves God understands temporal pain in light of eternity (Phil 3:21)

Working All Things Rom 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  #2 One who loves God has sustained faith in promises that are momentarily unfulfilled (Eph 2:7; 1 Ti 4:8)

Working All Things Romans 8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, [then] do we with patience wait for [it]. #3 One who loves God doesn’t need a timeline to know resolution is coming (Ps 130:5-6; Isa 40:3; Jas 5:7; Ps 37:7)

Working All Things Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. #4 One who loves God is satisfied with simple promises regardless of complex and painful circumstances.

KEY QUESTION Do you love God with your feelings or your faith?

Working On Me God isn’t just working out the things around me, he is also working in me to produce the character of Christ!

Working On Me 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

What this says… Working On Me - He knew all things before time - He predestined before time that he would create the image of Christ in our lives.

Working On Me What this DOES NOT say… That God foreordains some to salvation and some to damnation.

Working On Me The teaching that God chooses only some to be saved is contrary to the clear teaching of Scripture (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9). What is God’s will? It is that those who believe on the gospel will be saved (Jn. 6:40).

Working On Me 1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Working On Me 2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Working On Me Jhn 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Working On Me Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

KEY POINT God’s love is for all men, conformity to his image is for those who believe him
