What parents can do?

Parent support can help students succeed By staying involved, informed and engaged, parents can help students be successful There are many ways to help: Review and discuss their homework Communicate with their teachers Attend public meetings to learn more Learn about the standards and how they affect your child’s education and school Look through your child’s backpack each afternoon 9

Backpacks: What you should see Math homework that asks students to write out how they got their answer How did you use math today? Can you show me an example? Real-world examples that makes what students learn in math make more sense Math homework that asks students to use different methods to solve the same problem What math problems did you do today? How did you get your answer? Some questions to ask your child

Pearson SuccessNet Online access to classroom resources Provides an opportunity to look inside your child’s day-to-day learning. Online access to classroom resources Individually assigned activities and assessments Skills-based games to support mathematical practice and application Ability to monitor student progress These interactive learning experiences will help to motivate and excite your child.
