Build It … Three-year plan Multi-track project From 2015 to 2017 Overlapping timeframes Standards Education Video Channel Track (time frame: 3 years): Includes technical videos, interviews, and a Guest Lecture Series. Also in this track are eLearning modules.   Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Track (3 years): The MOOC, entitled “Standards: A Driving Force for Commerce,” is intended to help students develop a skillset around technical standards that enables them to compete more effectively in the global economy. Standards Simulation Game Track (time frame: 2 years): The only standards development simulation game developed by standards experts. Workshop Track (time frame: 3 years): Expansion of successful face-to-face one-day training workshops for students, faculty, and/or professionals aimed at greatly increasing attendees’ knowledge of standards. Publication Track (time frame: 3 years): The IEEE Standards Education e-Magazine is the flagship publication; publication of research articles in existing IEEE journals is another goal. On-Line University Experience Track (time frame: 1 years): Website development and improvements to greatly increase web traffic and improve navigation by pulling all websites under one umbrella. 11/27/2018

  MOOC IMPLEMENTATION Q1 2015 Identify all partners: professor, evaluation consultant, instructional designer, university. . Evaluate platform partners. Q2 2015 Finalize arrangements with all partners. Design and develop course content and lecture/lesson format, including ancillary materials. Write marketing plan, including creation of feeling of joining a community, establish course start date. Q3 2015 Continue course and evaluation materials development. Launch marketing campaign. Q4 2015 Complete course and evaluation development. Peer-review course content. Conduct “dry-run”. Create and upload syllabus and background and reference material. Send pre-invitations to established lists. Q1 2016 JUL-AUG Invite students to course and community. Launch course. Q2 2016 SEP-DEC Complete the delivery of the full course.
