Woodward PTO Newsletter October 2015 Woodward PTO Newsletter

Woodward Elementary PTO Newsletter October 2015 President’s Note THANK YOU Happy October Woodward families! It has been a busy month at Woodward. The students (and staff!) have been working very hard! We’re almost at the end of our Read-A-Thon and the students have logged over 121,106 minutes!! We’ve exceeded our school goal of reading 100,000 minutes!! A huge THANK YOU to our students for exceeding the school goal! But don’t stop reading now - we still have until the end of this week to add to our grand total so continue to enourage your student to keep on reading! Also, the PTO officers will be coming around this week and voting for the best decorated door. The winner will be announced during the Celebration Day activities on the 29th. I can’t believe we are almost at the end of October…. The holidays will be here before we know it! With the holiday season comes many opportunities to volunteer! Please contact me if you’d like to lend a hand! Looking forward to the next few months! Many thanks, Abby Berlin The PTO would like to thank everyone who helped with Breakfast with a Buddy: Duane Barry, Heather Johnson, Crickett Pearl-Anderson, Jim and Kristi Lowman, Daniel McWilliams, T.K. Lewis, Meagan VanTilburg, Michelle King, Brittany Sinzinger and Dave Berlin. A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone that helped with the Book Fair. Our volunteers are who make things happen and you are all appreciated so very much!

DON’T FORGET – EASY $$ for Woodward SPOTLIGHT!!! These are a few of the local businesses that helped make our recent events successful: Kroger at Houk Rd – for providing doughnuts for Breakfast with a Buddy at a discounted rate. Domino’s Pizza – for donating pizza to the teachers and staff during Parent/Teacher conferences! We truly appreciate our local businesses for all their support!! THANK YOU!! I VOLUNTEERS Our annual Holiday Open House is right around the corner. We will need LOTS of volunteers to help make this fun event successful! There are many ways to help.
