ORC Referral ? Process of directing or redirecting a child to Appropriate Expert ( Child Psychiatrist, Senior Psychologist) Appropriate Institution ( De -Addiction Clinics) Appropriate Agency ( DCPU, CWC) for Expert Attention

3 Severe ORC referral – why? Identification of behavioral, emotional, learning, social and other issues at class room level No issues 1 Mild 2 Moderate 3 Severe Sever issues : The school level ORC team alone will not be capable of addressing the issues

WHEN The concerned class teachers will hand over the ORC- IKMC card of children facing moderate to severe issues, to the school ORC core team. School core team will intervene in the case children facing moderate level issues through individual attention. When the score is 3 and the issues are severe the core through the ORC district team will seek the support of an expert/institution/agency

Who ORC Core Team Members – School ORC Nodal teachers, School Counselor and School Health Nurse Supported by Parent’s of the child ORC District team under DCPU ORC district resource persons pool ORC mentors

Where Experts/institutions/ agencies mapped by the ORC district directory, to address the severe behavioral/emotional/learning/mental health/social issues faced by children Experts – Child Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologists, L D experts, Experienced Counselors etc. Institutions – Care Homes, De-Addiction Clinics, LD Clinics, Counseling Centers, AFHCs etc. Agencies – DCPU, DLSA, DMHP, NGOs, Social Organizations etc.

ORC DISTRICT Resource centers District level centres being developed by ORC Envisioned as, A knowledge hub Panel of experts Panel of resource persons Panel of volunteer mentors who support and guide Students/Teachers/Parents Training facilities Resource mapping Counselling facilities including Tele- counselling

ORC DISTRICT Resource centers  The centers will facilitate Counseling expert consultation mentor-mentee interface capacity development programs Review, monitoring and strengthening of ORC activities of the district

Take home messages Expert level attention is an integral component of ORC intervention. ORC is a partnership attempt to address the bio –psycho-social issues of children in a collective manner. :
