Step 1: Look at least 3 different artist within the pop art era.. Step 2: Create a collage of these artist work : Why have you chosen these artist? Think about what attracted you to their work. Look art news or magazine articles about these artist (remember to name these news papers and reference them in your work as evidence that you researched this). These articles could be old or new. Visit their web pages (if they have one) or visit the webpage of galleries and exhibitions that exhibit their work (remember to name these websites in your work as evidence that you researched this). Look at some videos and video interviews online i.e. YouTube and copy these into your power point. Now answer the questions on each artist using the questions on the following slide. Remmeber to answer them in full sentences and use connective words to help you explain your answers. Do not forget to also link your reseaons or answers to the research that you have done. Compare the artist to eachother: Which one would you like to follow and why? What have you learnt about their style and how will you incorporate this into your own work?

How to Analyse an artist's/Designer work? Analysing an artist's work means studying the elements that make up an artwork. You can show your understanding by answering questions about the work. The following headings and questions can help you to structure a piece of writing and understand a piece of artwork. Always remember to use your own words so that you are expressing what you think. Context This refers to how the work relates to a particular time, place, culture and society in which it was produced. When was it made? Where was it made? Who made it? Who was the work made for? What do you know about the artist? How does the work relate to yours and what could you take and incorporate into your work? Form This means looking at the formal elements of an artwork. What colours does the artist use? Why? How is colour organised? Where could you add this to your Artwork? What kind of shapes or forms can you find? Which of these could you link in with your artwork? What kind of marks or techniques does the artist use? – water colours, silhouettes, 3D visuals etc.
