Cabbagetown Canopy Committee Who are we? Works to build awareness of important issues related to the local tree canopy within the neighbourhood. Informational body for Cabbagetown residents with respect to existing urban forestry resources, relevant City of Toronto contacts, and general information concerning the health of local trees. Encourage the planting of new trees by residents, and to build awareness of organizations that can assist in this regard.

About the Forsythia Festival Now in its 42nd year, the Forsythia Festival is Cabbagetown’s official welcoming of spring. The Forsythia Festival was founded in 1971 by the late Tony Brady (1935-1991).  The festival is organized by a committee of volunteer Cabbagetown residents and is made possible by the generous support of our local businesses. Fun starts with a parade departing from the corner of Sumach and Winchester Streets - followed by an afternoon at Wellesley Park – live entertainment, great food and a beer garden!

Schools Committee Who we are? What we do? Interested in strengthening the ties between the parents in the Cabbagetown community and the public schools in the area. What we do? To gather and disseminate information about the local public schools in Cabbagetown in order to help parents make an informed decision about their children’s education.

Safety & Security Committee Who we are? Comprised of a handful of volunteers who are interested in engaging local residents and merchants in maintaining and improving the safety and security of our neighbourhood. Our role in our community: To identify and respond to safety and security concerns affecting residents and merchants. To help our community find practical solutions to prevent and minimize the impact of these issues on our neighbourhood.
