Preliminary Decisions Who will be responsible to organize and administer the survey? How will the survey be conducted? When will the survey be administered? What internal and external concerns need to be addressed? How will the survey results be used for internal and external purposes?
Groundwork Register for the survey Determine survey dates Become familiar with survey components, timetable, and data needs Determine survey samples and decide how samples will be generated Gather respondent data for faculty and students Prepare survey letters and arrange for distribution Market survey via library and student mechanisms
Implementation Communicate survey details with library staff Distribute survey Monitor survey responses Answer questions/email related to the survey Send reminder letter(s)
Conclusion Close survey Thank library staff and university personnel who assisted in the survey effort Review survey results to identify areas for further analysis and follow up efforts Use LibQual+ survey report to generate customized report for planning and decision making purposes
