Subject Tim ran to the store. This is about Tim going to the store. Therefore the subject is Tim. The subject of the sentence is who, whom, or what that particular sentence is about. It also tells who preforms the action.

In this sentence there is also a prepositional phrase. This is a phrase that tells where something is or where it is going.
